I'm buying a laser turbo and its leaking coolant , and the guy has a aftermarket extra fan hooked up to the radiator and switch i can turn off or on. He says the car wont overheat on me and i have to drive it a hour away if i turn the switch on will it overheat???

If it is leaking coolant alot or even a good amount, then you will over heat, unless you pull over and fill it up every 5 minutes. I am sure the fan will help keep it cooler and no it wont overheat cause you turn it on. But if it is only a few drips I would think it is fine, but if it is constant or a big amount then I wouldnt drive it even 5 minutes.

Ive got my fans hooked to a toggle switch as long as its not leaking to bad youll be good man. If it is leaking pretty and your not going to fix the leak before you move it be sure the water you put in isnt really cold. Other than that you will be ok.

I'm gonna fill the overflow tank up and it only drips a little bit from a crack in a hose somewhere.I had a gsx with the manual radiator switch and i had no coolant in it for 2 months and it never overheated on me LOL.

No problem. And thank you i thinks yours is pretty tight to.
But if its just leaking front the hose why not just change it out before you bring her home?

because im not sure exactly were its leaking from its dripping down from somewhere ,i think its a clamp thats lose or something.

I just wired my fan to a switch..

Fan wouldn't kick on.. i wasn't leaking coolant or anything and i was driving down in the city without the fan.. I was overheating and had to turn car off alot and wait a while..

Having a fan on a switch is a good thing..

As long as your car is getting lots of car driving the long distance home; you'll be good, just carry some coolant with you.

yea thats what i plan to do and just keep the fan switch on i think ill be fine.Especially when i had my gsx i had no coolant in it for awhile and never overheated with the fan on 24/7 of course.LOL

Might be leaking from the water pump....just make sure the coolant level is full, turn the fans watch the gauge. Good luck

Yep thats where its located. If i was you just buy a bottle of water wetter and throw her in there i live by this stuff. And check the clamps haha i hope if thats all it is you wouldn't risk driving it without doing a 5minute fix:D

Whats water wetter?

LOL thats what everyone says. Its a little orange bottle filled with like a crazy looking orange fluid. Its a super coolant it helps keep your temps like 30 degrees lower. You can get it at any auto parts store for like 10$

Oh ill have to check that out :thumb:once i fix the leak so you put that in your car instead of regular coolant?

Nope. You fill your coolant and add the water wetter. I always put it in first then add coolant. Summers going to get really hot hear in another month or so im going to add at least two bottles then.:hellyeah:

ohhhh ok I see I'll do the same thanks for the info bro.:D
