ok guys need a diagram or a list of posiblities as to why my cooling fan will not come on

The car starts and runs fine so theres no cold start issues

I would like to know all possible reasons why this couldnt be working

Ie relays, broken switches..exc

To my knowledge theres a sensor on the water neck, theres got to be a relay somewhere( where i guess is my question ), and there has to be a plug in or switch for the fan to get power to run. is there anything else im missing?

diagrams or a link to something visual would be perfect

thanks guys

luv2rallye always posts helpful electrical info thats 100% correct, that seems a bit involved though. Before you get crazy pop the hood and open your fuse box, theres a pink fuse in there labeled fans. If its blown replace it, if its not blown then get crazy checking for voltages using the link that Maurice linked to.

Good find Maurice, I hadn't seen that write-up on the fans before. :thumb:

ha ya i checked the fuses before the volt meter so i guess its the volt meters turn.

im pretty sure theres a sensor at bottom of radiator as well for the fan but not sure how it works. just noticed mine when i pull radiator

I believe it is only on our 1G's, but I could be mistaken.

It is basically a temperature switch that takes one side of the fan relay's coil to ground, turning the radiator fan on.

If it was a cooling fan sensor, the car would be throwing a check engine light. If there is no check engine light, make sure the fuse isn't blown. If the fuse isn't blown, replace the cooling fan relay. If that doesn't work, the fans are shot.
