Theres a problem with my eclipse, Ive been trying to find out what. First the over heating from the water pump not working, I installed a new one last week. Now the liquid flows through the radiator, but now my car still heats up quick and after it warms up after a while I put it in first gear and it wont go, its like its in nuetral but its not. When I put it in gear and let go of the clutch the car doesnt stall.. And when I press on the gas it just revs an rolls a bit. I have two fans running on the radiator. I also have a mix of oil and water residue under the transmission, not sure whats that about but help me out here!! Ask i you need me to provide information im missing.. Thank you

You probably warped the head when it overheated. At the least the head gasket is bad. The car not moving is probably a bad clutch.

Pull out your dipstick if it looks milky then you have a blown head gasket. As for the transmission problem i dont think that is related. Does the clutch engage and disengage? Was the transmission and clutch fine before you replaced your water pump?

The oil looks fine on the dipstick, once the car heats up im guessing the clutch doesnt engage anymore. But when the cars nice and cool it works just fine. Yea had this problem before I replaced the waterpump. Im not to sure about the stuff under the transmission, just seen it yeterday still looking for the leak.

Oh ok then your just low on transmission fluid cause when it gets warmed up the fluid is really thin. As for your overheating issue look at your coolant now are you losing coolant does it have oil in it?

The transmission fluid has absolutely nothing to do with the clutch.

I know that the transmission fluid has nothing to do with the clutch but its not clutch issue. Its an issue with the transmission if it was a clutch issue it would it would do it all the time.

Tell me what in a manual transmission can cause slipping? It doesn't work like that with a manual trans. If it is locked in gear than it is locked in gear. There is nothing to slip. It is actually VERY common for a clutch that is getting thin to slip when warm but not when cold. I

Adjust you clutch rod at the pedal inside the car. The pressure plate is only partially engaging the disk. When the clutch disk is cold it is much stickier than warm which is why. (Stock disk). You need to give it more engagement. if this doesn't work then your clutch is shot

Pop the hood and check the fluid level of the clutch.

If you are standing at the front of your car looking at the motor its the small white capped reservoir attached to the firewall on the driver side. Just pull the cap off and see of it has fluid. There maybe enough to keep the clutch pedal up but not enough to work the clutch properly.

If there's fluid then its definetely possible the clutch disc needs replacing or....

If there is a leak someplace (overheating) could be the fluid is getting on the clutch causing it to slip.. (not to likely but still a maybe)
