2G Coolant temperature sensor replacement

Wanted to know if this sensor would fit perfect on a 98 gst, and whats the thread on the oem one? how would you know the thread size?

I just happen to have my 99 GST oem one out. It measures 17mm x 1.25. Here's the pic of it:

I would just buy the oem one. Its like 28$ at the dealer near me. 14$ more is nothing for reasurance and peace of mind =).

by the way, im not sure what your intentions are for buying the other sensor from ebay but FYI the AEM EMS Temp sensor is only 38$ from SB Racing

yeah i mean its on eBay but its not a totally bad brand, its from MSD ignition.. but the aem one says it has the same threads. 3/8..

Buy one you don't know if it will fit for $20 off ebay or go to autozone and buy the exact one you need for $26.

ripped l. cam you take it apart? .. but 3/8 is a little bit over 17 mm.. but dont know how long..

3/8" is WAY LESS than 17mm! But I think he actually meant 5/8" which is only 0.044" less than 17mm. But it's probably actually 17mm and he just measured it with a fractional instrument and/or didn't know it was metric.
Anyway you can get it at NAPA for $21.49 (I just did today).
