Gatineau,
Hi guys.
I have a coolant leak at the front of the engine.
I have read several threads about leaks similar to this one.
No, the water pump tube « O » ring is not leaking. I’m assuming it is the water pump.
Look at the picture and let me know if I’m in left field. The lower timing belt shield is soaked.
The car has 100k. Is it commun on these engine? Not to long ago, I had to replace a ruptured coolant line that lead into the filter housing due to a defective t-stat. So maybe the water pump shaft seal gave to the pressure and high temp. What do you think?

As long as there is no coolant leaking from somewhere higher up, such as a tube that is busted, then this is the pump. THere is an awful lot of coolant there, so it's hard to tell where the saturation is coming from.

If this happened while driving, I would assum the furthest forward place, as the coolant could blow towards the back of the vehicle. It could even be the little valve that releases the coolant from the radiator!

Water pump. The saturation on the timing cover to the left of the harmonic damper is a sure sign because that is right below the weep hole on the water pump. Remove the wp pulley and you will see the weep hole in the bottom of the shaft housing.
