Coolant Accessory Hoses - Where to Buy

I am currently replacing my head gasket and timing components throughout the car and would like to also replace all coolant lines while I have access to them. Upper and lower radiator hoses are all over the place but the only accessory coolant hoses I can find are the ebay silicone kits.

Where would I find non-silicone accessory hoses for my 1G or is bulk hose/the dealer the only way to go?

i got one of the ebay kits in black. when they get a little dirt on them they look fairly stock. there are no mitsubishi dealers within 3 hours of me, the chrisler dealer refused to even attempt to look up a compatible eagle part, the parts houses could get upper and lower radiator hoses and not much else. the online places like JNZ and extreme have oddly high shipping prices on some things.

the bad part about the ebay kit is the seller will not sell individuals so if you (or your pet) shreds one you buy an entire kit.

I read that silicone is primarily used for racing and although they are more heat resistant, they wear out faster than rubber hoses. How long have you been using silicone for?

About two years, but only about 5,000 miles/year. Didn't know that about silicone. OHM will frequently put together a group buy, if you're interested just email them!

How is the quality on the kit? Seems like ebay is the only one that has them for a 1g

Have you even tried the local auto parts store? The major manufacturers all make hoses. Gates etc.
You have to ask for heater hoses etc. Rockauto has most if not all of them also. I did my 2g with gates hoses a few years ago. All 8 of those bastards if I recall.

Speaking of coolant hoses, this is a little off subject and I'm sorry for it just can't find out what I'm looking for!
2g, the 2 hoses going to the firewall/heater core... does the top or bottom hose feed/supply coolant to the heater core?

i have had the ebay hoses for like 3 or 4 years now. they honestly still look new, no bubbles or warping or anything weird. i had a head gasket go and things got HOT once too and they are still fine. i am not a person to just go cheap on everything but for what they cost they are worth every penny. (i think the kit was like 120$)
