Converting from a Talon to an Eclipse [Merged 3-8]

i started my 95 into 99 eclipse conversion,i need 97-99 sideskirts!!! only the dealer has them shits ####in 242 dollars each side im 16 i dont have a ####in job yet ,i have the fronht and back bumper but i need sideskirts... if anyone has some for sale let me know...hey KRAZYKOREAN tight work dude....BTW how did u do that HID headlight from the benz???...

It was easy did some dremel work and rewired the headlights...also you will need the 97-99 door caps to they are around 90 or so from the dealer... I have a set for sale door caps so let me know..

the door caps is the piece of sideskirts that goes on the door right ??..the reason i started the conversion is because my front and back bumper where mamaged a lil and i said #### it why not,but my sideskirts r perfect ,ill hang on to those for a while ide rather get that 97-99 gst wing,and headlights, thats a little more noticable,only us DMS'rs would notice the sideskirts of a 95-96,until i can afford the sideskirts of the 99...well thanks anyways KRAZY...that HID idea sounds really sexy,ill definately find my self doing that later on... later dude....

Well on the 95-96 eclipse door caps stick out a little more then 97-99 thats why i offer but you will see when put the 97-99 side skirts on.. boostineklipz aka patrick has them anf you can se how the door caps hang out further then the 97-99 side skirts allow...you might not mind but for me that would bug me..

well i did what the site says "USE THE SEARCH". So it can be done, 95 eagle to a 97 GSX, well it dont have to be the GSX does it? unless the bumpers are diffrent? Let me know, i would rather do this then get a Erebuni Body kit and wing..... to a

Ok I was wondering that if someone converts their cars, emblems and everything, is that something that the law could ticket you for? I know that if your car is a different color than what is on your registration then you are in trouble. If a cop pulls you over and everything on your registration, and insurance says eagle talon, but your car is a decked out eclipse, then is that illegal? Thanks....

Then everyone with body kits would be in trouble because they don't have any emblems and are completley different looking than stock.

I don't believe they are illegal but I would check your local laws to be sure.

I would imagine it would only be a problem once you start putting Mitsu emblems on the Talon. Other then that, it should just be considered the same as a bodykit.

I dont think it would matter... no one would really be able to tell unless u knew two shits about cars and most people dont... i get asked daily how my EAGLE TALON is running... my close friends laugh cuzz they know it pisses me off... not that talons are bad just pisses me off people dont realize...

a conversion wouldnt be illegal. it's when u change VINS and stuff. make sure ur parts are legal & not stolen/chopped.


ppl always call mine an eclipse. i very subtly say talon right after they say that

That's funny...for all the idiots around here I call my car an Eclipse because when I say 95 talon they are like ...I thought they stopped making those in the early 90's.

If I replace the headlights of my 95 Talon with 97 spec eclipse ones, will a body kit such as the blitz one bolt directly on? Or would I need to make further modifications such as replacing the fenders and hood? What about the back end of the car? Would Eclipse tailights be enough? Your help will he much appreciated.

it will bolt directly on but make sure to order the 97-99 kit, the taillights you just have to drill a few holes for the middle piece

In spain, changing tailights, turn indicators, headlights, suspension, bumpers, adding a rear wing, changing wheels, distribution of masses, or adding any aerodinamic element result in havng to search for a diplomated to make you a legal project of your car.
He must aproves the project, and he assumes all the responsability of the modifications you plan to do.
Then, with the project, you go to a shop (techinician) and he do the installs.
And after that, you go to industry department and then, they aprove your car once more tu run by our country.

everything bolts up, trust me, ive done the whole conversion, i only had to put on one bracket in the middle to hold the back bumper straight

missouri cops and dmv really dont care what u do to your car as long it passes inspection and the vin # matches the title and it dont come up as stolen. i never even had problems with using different tags off other cars of mine, as long as the car is insured.

you can paint it a different color or seveal different colors, put parts off a totally different car on it. you could put honda civic emblems all over your dsm, the cops wont give a $h!t, you will just look stupid driving it is all.

As long as you have the original vin on there, and as stated above none of them are stolen i don't see how it could be illegal. but who knows with today's laws. It might a law in the last page of a law book somewhere.
