i am planning on doing the eclipse rear end conversion on my 95 talon. and i plan to use the instructions on VFAQ but i need some specifics. do i need the bumper AND the bumper cover? and what size L brackets do i need? any ideas would be great! thanx

i haven't done it myself, but i was planning on doing it and have read alot about it. you only need the bumper cover. im not really sure what you need for the l brackets tho.

I am in the process of doing the conversion right now. But i ran into a road block (eclipse bumper needs paint job). So, while that is gettin done I wired up the tails. They work exactly the same. Same harness, Same everything. I am going to post an FAQ once I finish it this weekend. Stay Tuned....

Hey this is the guy that is buying your driver side talon skirt, fender skirt, and door cap.

Hes a guy in town I know he just did the 97+ conversion and I'm sure he'd be happy to help you out.

Hey guys, I am currently doing the eclipse conversion to my tsi awd, and kinda got stuck at the tail light part b/c i sold my stock tail with the harness with it *doh*.
My question was would the talon tail light bulb harness work for an eclipse tail?
How about the bulb caps for the talon, will they fit on the eclipse tail?
I cannot find any fricking salvage yard with an eclipse, just talons. So any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks people.

they should, considering the wiring is the same...it leads me to believe that the bulbs would be the same as well. i'm not guarantee'ing it, but i THINK it is correct.

also, do you mean the wiring harness that connects to the light socket? again, they SHOULD be the same, considering the tail lights (the outer ones) are the same design, same basic mold, just different color.

I very much appreciate your suggestion, I have considered the same thing also, they should be the same, and the lighthousing cap should be the same as well... i just wanted to make sure before i go spend 50 dollars on a harness + caps.
So has any body done the actual eclipse rear conversion to a talon and used its stock wiring?
Thanks

It's not the same on a 2G. L2RTSiAWD and I had that issue. He needed light bulbs, so I gave him some for my eclipse (dual filiment) and most of his are single filament.

ok you lost me... so they are the same??????? does the light holder thingy go in and twist tight?
I found a salvage yard with the talon harness and lightholder thingymajig, so i'll see tomorrow, but i really wish i can hear from some one who did this.
Thanks though everyone

I have a 1995 Talon TSi AWD. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone ever "converted" it to a 97-99 Eclipse. Like, f+r bumpers, head+tail lights, etc. First, is this possible? Second, if it is possible, what parts would I need? Thanks for your help, Josh

yeah headlights, front bumper, tailights and rear bumper...youll have to make some brackets for the back and extend sme wiring....and fog lights nad rear revrse lights

i got headlights and a umper for sale if you want em

thanks alot for your quick response! I'm glad to hear that it's possible. I'm gonna start doing performance mods pretty soon, then on to exterior mods. BTW, props on your ride!

Yeah.....it's possible. The front end bolts right up where as the back needs just some minor work but its nothing really complicated. Just check out Krazy Koreans gallery and my gallery. My user name is SupaFly.

its possible, and its been done quite a bit

ask "krazykorean" on this board, he did the full conversion. its not that hard though. imo, though, talon sideskirts look better, and the tails can look just as good if you paint the top orange part to be red. the 95 talon front, though...yeah, thats gotta go! :thumb:

dude check this out

<img src="http://www.compass.com.ph/~sca/meanddan.jpg">

its made in the philippines but we can ship ito ya, no need to find 97-99 lights

thats awesome! But, i already have the lights, of all things. Went "shopping" at a junkyard and found em. Thanks anyway bro!

here you go you will not find a cleaner one and its for sale.. I did the front bumper headlights, rear bumper, taillights, side skirts, and a hid conversion from a Benz..
