And what would all need to be done. Also someone should put this topic into tech articles.

If you have any detailed questions you should pm lordpaxin he has done this with his car. Later, Keith

I have had the conversion working good for about 5 months now, but my cruise control was dissconnected somewhere during the swap.

I figured that it would come in hand in the amount of highway travel i do to get it back up and running.

But i have been looking over the manuals and can't quite see how, i am trying to set it up similar to a stock Manual cruise system minus the clutch switch but havn't got it yet.

If anyone knows the proper way, or have sucessfully hooked up the cruise control after an auto to manual convcersion please msg me.

Thanks

Matt B

I just converted my car to auto, as well as have several parts cars. Let me know if you boys need anything.

Hey guys I am in the middle of an AT/MT swap as we speak I was doint he cables today and realized the Auto cable go threw the floor board and the manual cables go threw the firewall, now would I be able too put the manual cables threw the floor? or will I have to cut out the firewall for the Manual cables? any help would be appreciated.

I took out the auto cable (i have heard of some people just cutting it and pulling through) by unbolting it and sealing the hole.

The shifter cables i have found enter through a hole in the firewall beside the tranny computer.

When i picked up my cables at the junkyard i took off the attatching plate and rubber gastek to match.

There are 2 sheets of metal on the firewall,..one (forget which side) will have the pattern for the master cylinder and shifter cable entry alreadt stamped out, you will have to find a way to cut the other sheet to match.

As for your question, when i installed my shifter cables through the intended firewall there was barely any cable to spare,..so i doub't if you could get the floor route to work properly.

Ok thanks on the cables part, I am gunna use an 1/8th in drill bit and just keep drilling and sooner or later it'll come out and same for the clutch but right now my main concern is Reverse Lights, the tutorial at http://www.ecanfix.com/~mdhamilton/autotomanual.html does not say a thing about reverse light's. I see one black plugin on the transmission and I was wondering if any of ya know what that is for? and how I get it too plugin b/c none of the plugins on any my loose harness are the same shape.

Thanks for the help guy's I really appreciate it.

I am working that out right now, i looked up the wiring and i figured that the 2 blue/red wires going to the inhibitor switch connector are for the reverse light,..so i am just going to get a backup switch connector from the junkyard and wire it to the 2 blue/red wires.

but i havn't confirmed that it works that way yet, so you might want to look it up too.

oh yeah, relating to your question,..the black plugin is the backup light switch,...the one i am talking about above about how to connect it.

Hey I am doin a AT/MT swap and took the clutch lines and stuff off today and when I pulled the clutch master cylider threw the firewall i "thought" I heard metal drop but I couldn't see anything is their anything in their that would fall out when ya pull it threw the firewall b/c if so then I gotta find it or I coulda knock a bolt or something off when I was pulling it threw the firewall thanks for the help

also let me know if the reverse lights work and if they do please explain too me hwo you done yours

Well the only thing that is can think of is either the pin or the washer used to attatch the master cylinder to the pedal system. there is usually some grease around the pin that might have held the washer on untill you pulled it through.

ok thanks I dunno if I am gunna work on the car today r not b/c it only sussposed too get up too 31 today and thats fricken cold when your working outside but I am hoping too be bale too work on it today. I got the pin washer and cotterpin so I think I may have knocked a nut, bolt, wrench, socket or something down when I pulled out on the clutch master.

Thanks, Danny :talon:

Yeah,..31 is a bit nippy, but try 5 when i was fixing the cruise control last weekend.

I think the hardest part of the project was just getting those akward pedals changed out,...
good luck with yours

well I got them out of the donor car yesterday and more than likely gunna go buy me a good pair of coveralls and gunna take the ones out of the soon too be road car today.

******UPDATE******

I got both sets of pedals out and I am working on getting the brake and clutch back up in their, I got one question though, their was a little switch on the clutch that a plugin was plugged into now my Auto car dont got that what do I do about that?

thanks
