Hi!

its time to do a timing belt job on my 2g, i did a search and found lots of posts, old ones. I decided to buy a contitech kit:hellyeah:

my question is:

i have a 1994/1995 eclipse GST. what kit from contitech do i get?

does this one fit?

part number: W0133-1613266

if not please post a link or PN for te product.

the belt adjuster im buying the mitsubishi onde PN:MIT-MD308587

thnks

I threw away my boxes for my contitech timing belts but just get the normal 95-99 kits and it will work just fine.
Mine is also an early 95 model. So far so good.

When i bought it i got both timing belt and balance belt along with a new water pump, pullies, and OEM tensioner for $200 something shipped.

so the part number W0133-1613266 for the timing belt kit is ok?

I was actually wondering how contitech timing belts were for dsm's i used to use them in my g60 corrado's, i never had any issues with them.

Use and OEM belt.
last guy I seen use on of those belts found every single tooth on the belt in the bottom of his timing cover after a few hundred miles.

he then replaced the head and used a OEM belt. and thus far has had no problems.

Once again; Improper installation. :applause:

Im gonna have to call bullshit here I have seenone guy probably stall 100+ timing belts over the years for customers /friends/and his own cars and he has only had cars have belt problems that used generic belts.

one conitech belts was a half tooth off no matter what way you looked at it... another was straight up too long yet carried the correct part number.

ok. so can some one tell me where to get the original mitusibishi belt kit? i live in brazil and cant buy it in MMC.
a link to buy online is the best answear.

They are OEM. Like I said; it was just improper installation. Call them up and ask who they manufacture OEM belts for. Do you really think mitsubishi has their own separate plant for belts, water pumps, harnesses, seats, bearings, gaskets, etc? #### no.

Second you live in Oregon can you at least type normal? Your post was wacky as heck to read for me.

Can you confirm that contitech makes the belt for mitsubishi?

becasue there are a lot of guys that say Gates supplies the OEM mitsubishi 4g63 belt.

either way your not convincing me that contitech is great shit. they can make something for the manufacturer and make the same part but of lesser quality for general public.

Timing belts are layered... does the contitech belt have the same ammount of layers made from the same material that the OEM is?

Whered you get the pulleys man?

They were pulleys made by a company called gmb, oem replacements, it's the same thing as the oem mitsu pulleys at lesser cost.
I got them from a timing belt kit i got from sbr.

As for the people talking smack about the contitech timing belt, try one before you actually talk crap about it and make sure you install it correctly as well.

So far my belt is doing great, let's see how it holds up to 300hp+.

Same here got mine from sbr. The belts are oem. Not no autozone crap. 200 miles so far and it seems good.

With the auto-timing belt tensioner make sure you get the early '95 one.

you mean the hidraulic tensioner? the one that the part number is :MD308587

Another OEM Mitsubishi part. The timing belt is probably the most crucial part in your engine. Don't let guys at the parts store tell you there model is just as good. There is only one better timing belt than a brand new Mitsubishi one, it's made of kevlar.

funny guys are saying sbr sold them these rockin ass contitech belts yet sbr's site states that^^ and in fact I cannot find a contitech belt on their website

I still find it ironic that they say the best is OEM or Kevlar??

And they are not promoting continental as being OEM or even OEM quality

OEM belts are not made by mitsubishi just so you know.
Mitsubishi has a certain manufacturer that they contract with to have them make their belts for our cars.
