Connector to ignitor?

My DSM was acting up and I couldn't diagnose what was wrong with it. I took it to a mechanic and he told me that it's the connector to the ignitor. what is that? he said they don't make them any more and that he sent emails out to local junk yards for the part, but i don't know what it is. Could you guys educate me on this part and tell me if i can get it any where? Thanks Guys!

Go to the shop, ask him what it is, take a picture of the issue, post it up.

The ignitor is our power transistor. It sits on the side of the intake manifold, just below the coil pack.

a new one extreme psi, not cheap, junk yard. dealership?

TONS of those in the junkyard or people's garages. Ask on the traders for one. ###### get one for under $20. Something like that from dealer lists for $186. $145 from Autozone. Your choice.

You just need the electrical connector for the wire harness correct? Check the JY'ds most of the newer mas airflow sensors are the same exact connector. 2Gs 3Gs, 3Si, Montaro's, Galants... Just check any and all Mitsubishi's I am sure there are some other manufactures that use the same MAF but cant think of any off the top of my head. Maybe some Dodges or Hyundis...

what is the traders?

The mechanic said it was the connector to the ignitor not the ignitor. and he said manufactures dont make them any more. is there any dsm parts web sites for stuff like that or something?

If you just need the connector, ANY 1G 2.0L DSM will have them. The 2G MAF plug is the exact same connector, just different color wiring.
