i recently came across an issue with my 420a that no one has been able to resolve yet and figured id try here

ok first off its a 1999 eclipse gs 420a auto
im getting no fire from the coil ( checked 4 different coils brand new and 2 from running cars)
cam and crank sensors are brand new and working perfect
asd relay is brand new
pcm is brand new from mitsu

i have no power going to the coil at the plug but i have ground pulses at it when trying to start the car

car turns on fine great compression but no spark
can anyone point me in a general direction on something i havent replaced or repaired yet any help would be much appreciated and thanks :aha:

Do you get power and ground to the primary curcuit on the coils?

So your car turns on without a spark? I think you mean turns over. It might be something small you overlooked, have you checked your engine link fuse?

So trace back the power wire using the service manual. Is there power coming from the ASD relay to the coil? There is obviously a break somewhere in the circuit. Bust out the DMM and start probing.
