Is there any easy and cheap way to lighten the car other than by taking out the backseats which are like, 2lbs anyways... I need to get like, 200 pounds off the car because I am sick of my buddys SL2 kicken my car to the curb just cause the SL2 is lighter than a pepsi can. I am thinking about making my own light weight bumper support, and removing some supports under the hood and what not that are "unneeded"... yes thats right, back country pennsylvania ingenuity!!!

the easies way i can think of is to replace some of your stuff with things that wieght less or you can take out some of the damping material it all depends you and how far you want to go. :dsm: :dsm:

I am replacing everything possible with carbon fiber, I am also gonna take out alot of that heavy dampening matt with the lighter weight stuff that dynomat makes to deaden sound and keep heat and cold in/out.

removing weight doesn't make HP. it'll not really help you very much when it comes to racing really light cars. friend drives a civic si w/ a CAI =\ and his car is still going to be lighter than my 2g even if i strip it bare except for the front seat, so.....
