Confused about boost leak test and my Turbo XS MBC.

As the title says, Im confused about my boost leak test. I did as much reading as I could find, and I found that your supposed to turn up the MBC all the way, well, I did that, and tested, and according to my boost gauge, I couldnt get over 3 psi with a bike pump and my MBC all the way up. The air just pisses right out of it. I have the TurboXS standard MBC, and its leaking out of right where the knob meets the rest of the MBC. I cant find an explination as to what is happening, or as to what I may be doing wrong, nothing is clear in any other threads, so could someone please help me out, thanks.

Then just bypass the mbc and do the test again.

if you can only hit 3psi and your boost controller is up all the way. either you have your boost set wrong or a huge hole somewhere, or even a disconnected pipe. Good places to look are at both sides of your intercooler or wherever a line should be connected.

I am eventually going to just bypass the MBC, but are they supposed to leak like that?? I mean as fast as I could pump, it was leaking right back out. Im just wondering if it would be leaking the same when the cars running. And I dont have a major leak, its coming out of the MBC like I said, theres no disconnected lines or anything, Ive taken just about everything apart and put it back together with utmost care, theres nothing broken or not hooked up.
