Ok, I know the Cone Filter removes a lot of restriction and adds some HP but I have a question. Doesnt this also allow a lot more dirt to get into the cars motor? If big enough pieces of sand or dirt get in there couldnt this cause some internal damage? I am trying to decide if I should put a K&N square/stock-size filter into the stock box or if I should remove the box and put the K&N cone filter with the adapter? I rather keep my engine clean inside then adding a bit of HP... what do you think? Thanks

A K&N filter is a better-made filter which actually removes smaller particle of debris than the stock filter does. They flow better and they filter better. It's a win-win situation. The only way more dirt might get in there is if you don't buy the right size for your application and it doesn't seal the intake pipe correctly.

Do eet.

Just make sure you get a GOOD filter when you buy one. I have an OBX piece of crap and the outside of the filter is nice and catches dirt good but the end is just mesh like cheese cloth :| i mean come on wtf is up with that WTF

On another note: I'm here sitting at home bored trying to decide if I should try those two FREE popular mods: BCS Restrictor Removal & Cutting the BOV Dump Tube. Is there any downside by doing these mods? Is it truly worth it? Will I lose my little stock 2G BOV sound? Thanks.

On another note, this might be a good time to start another thread or search up on what other people who've done these mods think. I'm 2GNT, but I think if there is a write-up on this site for those mods (I didn't bother clicking the links), then it's probably a safe bet that you can do them if your car is in good shape.

If you were searching for info on people who did those mods and came up with a thread about air filters, would you bother clicking it? Me either. :shhh:

I have done both of these mods and am very happy with them. The BCS mod you WILL notice as it will increase your boost a good amount. However the dump tube mod you wont be able to feel a difference, you will be able to hear a different sound but that's about it. I would go ahead and do it though because it removes a restriction and is FREE :thumb:
