Ok there is a thread out there with the same title but i have different story to tell.
i bought this filter not the cone filter (CAME WITH THE ADAPTER).. those half a ball filter with the sponge inside of it..(cut a basketball in half and thats wat i got)..and when i put it on i lost so much power. mean with the stock box rolling at 10 mhp I would foor it and i would start slipping tire at about 4500 rpm having to control the throttle if not i would just lose traction. i thought pretty powerful for bieng stock.. now i installed this filter thinking for a lil more power i got the opposite.. i was like WTF . i mean i felt so slow!! no power at all .. but the wierd thing is that i would have the same 1 second chirp going to second.. very wierd anybody can help me out really appreciate it thanks

I would stick with a regular "cone filter" that is good.. I dont trust these sponge things and i would be more worried about which of the two filter out particles the best...

Try disconnecting your battery for 1 min and putting a few miles on it to see if the computer makes any changes

So, why did you buy this when everyone else is using a cone filter, most likely K&N? I almost wouldn't put it past ebay performance parts to perform worse than stock. Also, what kind of dyno equipment did you ingest to feel a 3 horsepower difference?

i also have this kind of filter but mines is HKS. the owner of the car gave it to me when i got the car.

Well for starters i didnt purchase this the guy gave me somthing i didnt buy or at least wasnt in the picture... i purchased a 4 inch metal adapter and sopposibly he threw in a cone filter.. i was like cool then somthing totaly different showed up... he told me he would refund... instead i got that filter and a 3 inch plastic adapter ..but i wanted to see what it would do.. and if u pay close attention to your car u can tell if it runs better or not... i really dont need dyno equipment to tell if my car is running stronger than before the installment of the "performance enhancer" or so to say. common sense ...wel thanks alot for the info guys ill see what ends up happening. :dsm:
