Simple question, On a Holset Hx35 would a 7blade wheel be a direct swap for my 8blade?? Thanks in advance!

And if anyone needs one here is a great way to avoid getting a kockoff High Tech Turbo cheap

Ive been searching forever LOL. Im just not sure it would work being that the 7blade inducer is 54mm and my 8blade is 56mm. So im just trying to get someone to confirm???

Post this in the "Questions for Justin" thread. It will get answered quickly and he knows what he is doing so you can trust the info he provides.

Believe me i want to but i cant, i dont have enough tech posts yet.....

That would be logical as was stated you probably would have to swap the compressor cover being that the inducer is larger on the one. Have you tried contacting anyone like Buschur racing or maybe Magnus they may beable to answer it for you they are very well versed even try getting ahold of Shep ive asked him questions in the passed hes answered them. Also maybe try Slow Motion motor sports they are down by columbus ohio they know alot about DSM stuff they may beable to answer your question as well

Maybe someone could pose this question in the "Questions for Justin..." thread since i cant. That way its answered for anyone to see, rather than me PM him.

I need to buy one soon and would love to be sure.

Thanks, Adam

you have a 54mm compressor wheel...and want to put in a 56mm compressor wheel. Simple thought would lead me to think you would need to either swap compressor housings or machine yours to fit. Is it able to be machined that much to fit the bigger wheel? Im not sure.

Looks like you already beat me to it.

Its the other way around. He wants to put a 54mm wheel in a 56mm housing.

Wondering why you would want to go for a smaller compressor wheel then what you already have? Obviously a smaller compressor cover is required, otherwise it will be worse than a downgrade as the gap between the smaller wheel and your existing cover will hurt efficiency = inferior performance. Are you changing because of the blade count? if so, then make a pass on this 1 and look for 1 which is at least the same size as your existing.

FYI its 2mm smaller but the 7blade flows around 8lbs/ min more (60lb/min vs 52lb/min) than the 8blade. :thumb:

Question was answered. Thanks Post #180
