compressor wheel: discoloration!!!

So i was doing a lot of maintenance to my talon last night (mainly replacing IM gasket , what a PITA. anyway, while pulling my intake arm off, I noticed that my blades were slightly chipped with one fin being a CREME/BROWN color! this damn turbo is only 5k miles old with <20 psi of boost. it's an SBR G50 by the way.

anyone have any idea what this is?

Sounds like your bearing are toast and the blades are hitting the wall.

Check for side to side shaftplay.

It sounds like the turbo sucked in some debris.

no sign of the compressor wheel hitting the housing yet, but it'll get there soon.

Anyone have any suggestion on the discoloration though?

YOu sucked in a fairly small rock, and the impact superheated the blades it impacted. THe discoloration is a result of the sudden temperature change.
