Might be silly question: When I spun a rod bearing my turbo ate some chunks so I am in the process of getting the parts to repair it. The shaft play is minimal but there was a small amount of in/out play so its getting rebuilt. My housing plate has signs of wear in the journal. Does this mean it needs to be replaced?

Pic is where the wear marks are, not the actual cover plate.

Thanks,
