When I was looking for pics I didnt find alot of good comparo pics so here are some for those interested.

Are they direct bolt on for 2gs? I think this will be my next upgrade let us know how it goes.

I like them alot but it is snowing and raining alot where i live so I cant tell you exactly how much better they are. but i did find a small patch of dry pavement and before i couldnt lock up my super old tires on dry pavement, but iw as able to now. but i think i need a new master cylinder then things will be way better. but initial feel is the same but bites harder once i lay the pedal down.

they are from a 94 awd.

I didnt paint them as I didnt have any on hand and didnt feel like painting all four calipers. also my dsm is not a showy type of car so painting them wasnt on my priority list.

1g = Stock :D love it and yea, I can not lock up my brakes either, they just seem so weak. Where they just a direct bolt on or did you modify them?

Thank you for not painting them! If anything have them powder coated. Keep them black

real quick Q what is the diff between the 3000gt brakes swap and the dual piston swap?
advantages and disadvantages, costs etc.

The beauty of this swap is that they are a direct bolt on. the only thing you need to pay attention to is if your brake lines that go into the caliper are banjo fittings or just screw in type.

3000gt vr4 is 4 piston in the front and 2 piston in the rear. Vr4 needs custom brackets. Whereas the dual pistons ones bolt right on.

4 Piston calipers are much better but are more difficlut to install as the calipers are not floating. They give much better feel and even wear on rotors and pads. Floating calipers always tend to wear the the pad with the piston more than the other pad. This means un-even force (and heat buildup) across the rotor.

The better set-ups nnow are running 6 or 8 pistons that are staggered in size to make the force across the pad more even. The next step-up is ceramic rotors. We are now into braking systems that cost more than a DSM was new (the PCCB ceramic brake system is a $10K upgrade on a car that already costs $90k).

Really, for street use (even spirited street use) the 2G DSM brakes seem adequate to me. With the small size, I wouldn't want to use them too much on a road course.
I think one hard stop from 125mph would put a lot of heat into them and the rotors dont have the thermal mass to handle multiple hard stops.

Which cars did the dual piston calipers that say "mitsubishi" on them come off of?

I think the VR-4 have mitsu on them. And 95 2gs came with vented rear rotors as well LOL. +1 for my dual fronts and vented rears.

I swear i saw a galant with the mitsu on them. They might have been aftermarket/stock for another car. because they were clean but who knows.

3KGT VR4 calipers say "Mitsubishi" on them (front and rear) but I do agree, when I went from the stock single piston to the GSX twin piston calipers & rotors (I also used powerslot rotors, porterfield pads, and SS lines) it was like night and day, I honestly used to have to pull off the side of the road to avoid hitting someone with the stock single pistons, but after I upgraded the braking performance was outstanding

...And now you have Evo Brakes. :D Must be nice.. :p;)

I know it was terrible when I had my 97 GS. I came in so many close calls with ramming in to the back of people. The brakes just would not catch till I was doing like 10mph. Way too scary and not safe at all.

Dual-piston+Slotted Rotors+Hawk Ceramics is so, so nice.

None of the 2 piston calipers as far as I know. I've seen the calipers from the NA 3S (3000 GT and Stealth), the Diamante, and 93+ DSM AWD.

The 4 piston calipers from the 3000GT have a raised Mitsubishi on them. The Stealth versions don't.
