I was wondering what turbos out there are most comparable to the FP 3052. If I had to pick an upgrade now It would win because I hear nothing but good things about it and Ive seen what it can do first hand. there are so many turbos out there nowadays its hard to keep up. I am only interested in bolt on turbos. thanks for the info guys.

you do realise that short of the fp 3575 and the fp 3065, there are no other turbos for our car that have a completely custom designed turbine housing.

on fp's site they mention that the turbine wheel for the 3575 has been "enlarged" to gt37r spec's, so you can assume that the fp 3052 is smaller than a gt37r turbine wheel. My guess would be that its a gt30r turbine wheel with a gt35r compressor wheel. but thats kinda a stab in the dark.

the fp3052 is a garrett 3076r with the fp turbine housing. You can also get the gt3076r from slowboy/pte with thier housing, or from bullseye with thier turbine housing.

From someone that has owned both, the fp housing is better by leaps and bounds in my opinnion.

Could you explain what the differences you saw were? Any dyno numbers?

The fp housing is similar to a .63 garret turbine housing. Much better than any bolt on mitsu housing.

The FP housing is a .70 ar.

the fp housing is made of stainless steel with a v-band clamp for the o2 so it's lighter, plus it will flow more air at a lower boost level. On the flip side, spool might be a little slower with the bigger a/r.

With the FP it is a bigger a/r which will give you better top end at the sacrifice low end spool. It is lighter weight, but you will need to have an external wastegate and a V-band downpipe.

Ok thanks

Yes, we all know that, but its the power output thats comparable to a .63 garret housing.
also, compairing the ar of completely different turbine housings is pretty stupid. you can change the radius a lot which will change the ar, and the performance might not change much. fp has stated that they dont like telling people the a/r of their turbine housing because it only comes in one a/r, and compairing a/r's across completely different turbos is stupid and pointless. knowing the a/r of the fp turbine housing does nothing. i would go with the 35, although you mentioned you like to corner or something, so if your interested in road racing the spool time might be a bit sad. I still think the 35 should cover you though because you have the extra 300 mL being pushed out. maybe use a 9:1 compression ratio over an 8.5:1 to help with spool as well.
