Cold start - no warm-up phase, misses for 1-2 minutes until warm

More problems... make them stop!

When I start my car in the mornings it completely skips the warm-up phase and just idles erratically under 1,000 rpm. It feels like it's missing, then when the car warms up a minute or two later, everything idles fine.

Any thoughts on why in the world this could be? I just recently replaced my spark plugs and wires.

It sounds like your FIAV (Fast Idle Air Valve). When your car is cold, this little valve lets coolant pass through the throttle body in order to help the engine warm up properly. If it's not functioning correctly, your car will be hard to start in the morning, and it will barely idle. I bypassed the coolant to my throttle body, so my car doesn't idle very well in the mornings or when the car's cold. When it warms up, it idles fine.

How does your car idle in the mornings? Does it make a little sputtering sound and idle erratically?

This happened out of the blue, and what's even more odd is that my idle surge disppaered too! I used to have idle surge and now all I have is bad idle with cold-starts.

Any furtehr thoughts? I just replaced wires with Bosch and plugs with BPR6ES's gapped to .032.
