My mods list is on my profile. It's up to date and all. So a while back my car started stuttering really badly if I tried to drive it right after starting it up and it was still cold. We found a vacuum leak, and a bad egr valve. Fixed the vacuum and did the EGR block off which made it a little better. The problem though is that sometimes it will still stutter at about 2.5-3 k and today in 3rd gear I couldn't pull a very small hill. When the car is warm, in 3rd gear I fly up it but today it started losing speed at wot. I know that isn't right
I do still occasionally get a cel for the egr valve insufficient flow. Here's a quick question/suggestion/reaching for something. I left the sensor plugged in because I was told that it would keep the light off. I did plug all of the vacuums running to and from it and plugged the one at the back of my intake plenum. All caps are still on. The car does idle at about 1500 when I start it up and it lurches a little taking off in first and shifts kind of jerky.please help with this. I know that you have to account for the oil needs time to circulate a little, but if I need to go in a hurry, I need to go and might not be able to wait around for a few minutes.

Take some carb spray and spray around the intake. Does it smooth out? Spray into the intake. Does that smooth it out?

If the first is a yes, it's an external vacuum leak. If the second is a yes, it's an internal vacuum leak. Pcv valve and such as you can't hear them but they can cause lean conditions.

Good Luck

Do this while it's running??
just replaced pcv actually and that did help a lot, plus it quit smoking. I've noticed a lil bit of oil coming from the hose that runs to the pcv though, looks like it's getting to the valve and building up or something. Should oil be going through that hose? I know it's usually all over the bottom of my oil cap if i take it off. There's no air coming through the oil cap though if i let it idle with the cap off. Thanks for the help

Yes while running would be good. I'm looking for you to be able to pinpoint a vacuum leak.

Hopefully the horse laugh bunch won't attack you.

Good Luck

yeah i know it sounded stupid but i didn't know if i should do it with the car running or spray it and then start the car. All that's stopped me for now is that it started overheating yesterday... radiator cap warped... I'm replacing the thermostat and cap, refilling coolant tomorrow. I'll test drive to make sure nothing else is wrong. Then I'll try it. Here's hoping it works.
