cold(er) weather coolant

whats up guys . im sure this has been covered somewhere but im currently running about 30 percent anti freeze a bottle of redline water wetter and the rest distilled water. the temps are getting lower around here (philadelphia) and i was wondering at what point i should be concerned with switching to antifreeze ? its susposed to go down to 31 degrees tomorrow night

Do you happen to have a Tester..There only a couple bux at wallmart..

You just take some of the coolant out of the pipe with the tester..The balls will float at what temp your coolant is good too..Then add more antfreeze if you need do..

Good thing you mentioned that..I should test mine and get it ready for winter...

I didn't know something like that stated above existed. I am going to look for that changed my rad last week and currently running around 30/70 also and weathers about the same here.

That's actually the same style tester I was talking about..

Not the most high tech..But it sure does work..

And for the price, who can beat that..

You should be fine with a 30/70 mix for right now.

I'd suggest switching to 50/50 at some point this winter. They're calling for it to be worse than last year.

It hasn't snowed in the south yet. They haven't started to panic.

yea any time its still having 70 degree days in November in Indiana I can tell the winter is going to be bad. pretty bad when our worse snow fall was in march last year.

I was out yesterday..It rained a little bit and one town had salt on the road already..
