I got my coil overs rebuilt by JIC. Super nice guys they were very friendly and answered all my emails quickly. They sent me back my coil overs disassembled. Can someone help me with these instructions from JIC.

set up is not difficult. please make sure below data.
1, install springs and put upper mount back and make spring pre load 8mm for L&R.
2, install shock inside lower cap bracket same depth.
3, please make sure L&R is same set up and same pre load tension.
4, your favorite ride height please adjust from lower cap only. do not adjust ride height from springs.
spring adjust for corner weight balance only for professional technician who understand corner weight balance.
5, spring lower seat dose not need tight too strong.
6, lower cup bracket lock right need re tight after install and drive 50 mile later again and make sure tight enough.
but do not over tight.

My questions are how far down to I screw the mount that the spring sits on. Also how far do I screw the bottom mount up the strut before I screw the bottom mount on. Do I just screw the bottom piece on all the way, or is that what he is talking about screw it on how ever far I want to, to set the ride height.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Bottom portion is for ride height. So you just have to play with it till your at the height you want for your setup. The top part is for the preload on the springs. He's saying to have 8mm preload for proper setup. This is very important for a quality ride. If you have to little it will be bouncy and to much it will be super stiff and harsh. So make sure your preload is equal on both sides.
