Wanting to begin road courses and autox. I haven't looked into them much. Price isn't an issue. I want durable and easy to maintain.

I've got D2 coilovers and I love them. I have mine really stiff and now I can actually do 2nd gear pulls and get traction. Sometimes. :p. But I can't give you much tech like details on them. I'm no suspension/handling genius.

I used tein flex on my 2g they worked really good for me now I have Megan racing on my 1g they are also good,I think stance makes a good set also

Just how serious are you? And price has to be an issue at some point. Otherwise, you wouldn't be looking at Megan's.

I was thinking the same thing! Megan are one of the cheapest and I would not even consider them for racing!

Teins are a good start but mono flex are about $1400 but the k&w are your best bet for our cars that want to race.

I also need good suspension for racing and I have changed my mind a few times and I know k&w are good but im hoping the ohlins will become available for our 2g's in the near future

A buddy told me that Megan Racing Coilovers were good?

Stop hanging out with Honduh people. tee hee

KW V3s are fantastic on Evo Xs, by the way. KW has the same philosophy as Koni when it comes to damping, so they really are a well-built and well-matched version of the Konis-with-sleeves approach for those that have the extra money and/or don't want to deal with a variety of parts that need to be assembled. For extended runs, they are better than Konis because the extra fluid in the reservoir helps prevent overheating.

If price isn't an issue, here's what I'd recommend going from cheapest to most expensive. Almost all of these have been mentioned above, but I'm just reiterating.

1. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/handling-tech/385416-my-koni-gc-rre-dg-style-install.html
2. Autocross.dsm.org - Build Your Own Konis
3. KW Variant 3 Coilover Kit Mitsubishi Eclipse 95-99
4. Robispec modded KW Variant setup (contact Robi for pricing and info)

You can go higher in price than that and get more custom and crazy (think $6k+), but the above should get the job done without completely breaking your bank.

I run the K-Sport Control Pro, and I definately can't complain. They are really nice, 36 way adjustment, and one thing I like is that the tube is threaded so that when you lower the ride height, you can compinsate by adjusting the tube length and therefore not lose your supsention travel. They seam great for racing and for street manners. Nice and firm, but not stiff or bouncy. Keeps the car planted nicely. Not as expensive as the Tein or KW's, but it was nice to get a good coilover setup and not spend $2,000 for it!

All I can say is dont listen to people the say "I have this suspension and they work great, good, or I have never had problems". I myself have Tein Flex on the car and other the telling you the ride quality is nice, rides pretty much like stock, have no real technical insight on them.

So unless they have something more in depth to say other then "there good". I would not consider there suggestion. Listen to someone who has actually autocrossed.

I also want to start autox or road course and am doing the DG/koni setup.

Just for future reference, I have autocrossed and raced my car at the drag strip and the car felt a lot more solid then before. I still stick to my word that I like my Megan coilovers and for the price I paid I have zero complaints.

(I've also owned them for at least 2 years maybe 3)

Omar, just curious if you've ever driven a car with a different setup, or if you just have experience with the Megans. I know some people say their setup is great, but that might be the only setup they've had experience with.

For example, I thought my Tein Flex setup was good, until I switched to the DG setup which was noticeably better before I even got to race the car.

That's where you have me. I've never driven a car with a different setup.

All I have to compare them to are the Ohlins on my 1g and they feel just as good in every way. Why the 2g guys aren't open to these is beyond me! I'm glad I took the chance. Just ask English Racing and ETS who they recommend.

+1 on AMR. Andy doesn't do a ton of marketing. He just lets his coilovers speak for themselves. Anyone who gets there hands on these things is extremely impressed with them. I haven't got a set under my car yet but there will be in the future and I have ridden/driven a few cars that have these and they are nothing short of amazing.

Oh, please. Why the heck would you ask drag-racers how to set up the suspension for autocross and road-racing? Seriously. Read the first post in a thread or just stay out.

sigh

So you have first hand experience with Andys products then? Don't hate because I went outside the box and didn't believe that Koni and KW was the only company's that could make a decent damper.....

sigh.....
