Coil Problems?

So it's been since May that I've had a running DSM. Finally got a newer engine swapped in with all new gaskets. Been having trouble getting the car to stay running strong though. Tested the CAS by turning it in the on position. Heard injectors fire at the correct cylinders. All new injector pigtails. When i pulled the plugs smelled like fuel. (Fuel Problem Eliminated) After I pulled the plugs and they smelled like fuel, I knew that there wasn't spark getting to it. Correct??? I mean I have a Walbro 255lph pump with an Aeromotive FPR set at stock pressure with vacuum hose attached. Put the plugs back in and got the engine to stay running, but not smooth at all. I pulled out cylinder 1 spark plug wire (SPW) and car didn't start missing. Pulled out cylionder 2 SPW, same result. Pulled out cylinder 3 SPW, same result. Pulled out cylinder 4 SPW, car died. Is it possible that my engine is only runing on 1 cylinder? Also checked the firing order twice, and tried a friend's wires to make sure they weren't the wires. When installing the wires and pulling the SPW at cylinder 1,2, and 3 from the spark plug, the coil would shoot sparks to the intake manifold. Weird?? I figured the coil had to be bad so I did the smart thing and ordered a coil on plug conversion kit. Will be installing it when it comes in the mail. Is there anything that could cause this to happen besides the coil. I know the ECU could cause it, but the capacitors look good, and the ECU has been rebuilt by motoguysgarage.com. I'm pretty sure I narrowed it down to an ignition prblem since I smell fuel. Doing a boost leakdown test soon too. Cams are timed, but can't time the car with the CAS if it's only running on one cylinder. Any help would be great guys and girls.

Check the coolant temp sensor that speaks to the ecu, could cause a fuel problem too much.

But would that cause the car to only run on one cylinder? I'm worried about the spark issue and not really the fuel issue right now. Unless this correlates to the spark issue as well. If it does can you explain?

IF that sensor is bad it can cause it to flood. cylinder check the compression perhaps, and wiring and the injector to see if it is working.

Ok so you think that if the sensor is bad that it causes too much fuel to be injected into the cylinder so it would create too much fuel to be burned by the spark? This would cause the plugs to smell like they are dousted in fuel and getting no spark. Would that effect all 4 cylinders or pick and choose which cylinders? Because I think that would cause problems across the board, not in 3 of the 4 cylinders. I really appreciate the help but I just don't follow how this could effect that. And i hope the compression is ok, I had to swap a new enigine in because the old one was running 80 psi across the board . Bad rings across the board.

Anyone else have any ideas??? Anything is appreciated.

are you sur u got the firing order correct? I'd take a good known stock coil and isolate the prob BEFORE upgrading. If there is a new prob w/ the cop set-up, it'll make fixing the car a nightmare. Trust me, I kno from experience.
