So I started my car up last night and when I stepped on the clutch this little baby hit me in the shin:

My pedal felt really soft and took a while to come back up. This morning the pedal feels exactly how it was before the spring flew off. I can't seem to find anyone who carries this second spring either. So do I even need this? thanks :)

Looks like the clutch pedal return spring to me. Leave that off and you will most likely get abnormal clutch wear.:( I was trying to find a part number for you, but I'm not having any luck. Maybe someone else can chime in with some info.

That would explain the looseness of the pedal the other night. Yea I'm having the same problem. Everyone says that either they don't sell it or that I would need to buy the whole assembly new.

Have you tried using vise grips to stretch one of the coils out and making a new end? If not, give it a try, it'll be a little tighter, but hey you saved some money. If that's not viable, head to the junk yard. It doesn't seem like a popular part, I'm pretty sure you'll find it.

Update: When I mean vise grips, I'm talking about the needle nose pliers. Sorry.
