I'm not sure what the problem is with my clutch but after i take a long drive with out pushing the pedal it eventually goes soft on me so when i come to an exit on the high way and push the clutch in to disengauge it, the thing is hard to get out of gear and into a lower gear. My solution to this has been trying many different engauging points with the rod connected to the clutch pedal, and pumping the clutch pedal as soon as i get off the high way. Both methods seem to work but i'm wondering what my problem is so i can rid my car of this problem.

Could really be anywhere in your lines that's allowing a leak. It's just air in your system. First try to just bleed it and make sure you've got enough fluid. if it stops, you're done. if not, try replacing the slave, then the master. or both at the same time i guess (they're cheap) Mine had a bad slave. A bleed will be a temporary fix if this is the case with you. :thumb:

Same thing, it got soft on drives and also when sitting in a garage for a day or so. I replaced my master and slave and it fixed it. Also, check to make sure you dont have any clutch fluid leaks anywhere else, in the lines, etc. For now, pumping it 15 times or so every 10 min or so on the freeway should do it. Just keep a very small amount of throttle on, so when u push in the clutch when in 5th gear, the RPMs shouldnt go up or down. This way you can pump it a lot while in gear without slowing down :thumb: Or thats what I used to do, it kept me going till I went to the mechanic.

right on fella's thx for the help, now how do i bleed the clutch? any walkthroughs or anything on this sight?

need 2 people . 1 person in the car and 1 under with a pair of locking pliers on the nipple. Find the slave cyilnder, not hard to find, and put the pliers on the nipple. open and close it just to make sure its not going to be stuck. Have the person in the car push the clutch in and up 3 times, on the 3rd time hold it to the floor. Open the bleeder valve/nipple and wait till all the air bubbles and fluid comes out. Close it then repeat you should be gaining pressure by now if not already have it, repeat as needed. :thumb: Bleed until the fluid rockets out the lleder valve/nipple.
