Ok so I'm in the middle of my rebuild and am replacing my old worn out ACT2600 and the flywheel while I'm in there. Here are a couple of questions. Since I have a BRAND NEW OEM flywheel, shouldnt it already be stepped properly and ready to install without any machining? I thought stock was already stepped to .612 which would work with the 2600 right? Also, the new flywheel seems to be missing three dowels that are found on the old flywheel (see picture below). Can anyone offer some insight on this as to how to swap them over or if theyre absolutely needed? The holes are there in the new flywheel for the dowels, but theyre empty as pictured.
As an update, through a CAPS search, I found out that you have to order those three pressure plate alignment dowels seperately. Have those on order though I wonder how important they really are? Still need the info on the stepping of the flywheel though. I would ASSUME that it wouldnt be needed on a brand new one, but Ive learned the hard way about assuming things in the past so any info in reference to that is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys!
