clipped b16g vs evoIII 16g

i would like to know how a clipped b16g compares to an evoIII 16g?

what kind of hp numbers could i be looking at with a clipped b16g with full supporting mods and a decent tune?

i am wanting to know these things because i have clipped b16g but i have always wanted an evoIII 16g and i just want to know how my turbo stacks up to that one.

also does anyone know what turbo the evo VIII's come with stock? just out of curiosity

A clipped turbo doesn't add more power. It doesn't increase the amount of air the turbo can push. It increases spool time and top end power. Without getting into a full blown out flow chart explination, it's simply not as strong. Clipping a turbo allows for the turbo to spool later, but carry the power longer. Think of it like this (this isn't exact, this is an example). A t-25 stock drops off at 5k rpm. A clipped T-25 will drop off a little later, but it will spool a little later as well.

I have a ported and clipped big16g and I wish I would have boughten a EVOIII. It doesn't have the snap of other turbo's its size because spoolup takes longer. True it does carry higher into the RPM range but I am not all about reving it anything over the stock rev limiter so it doesn't appeal to me. I would go with the EVO III without a doubt and never look back.
