420A check engine light

My check engine light came on and went to autozone to see what it is. The code is the EVAP ventillation solenoid circuit? What exactly is this? And where is it?

Was the (CEL) code a P0403/P0442? Basically to sum it up, either you have a (leak) or more than likely you have something disconnected, wire-shorted, an electrical issue has arose.

I am not for sure about what the code was, but what exactly does this part do? It comes on for about 24 hrs once every month or so. Will this hurt my gas?

check your hoses! I had the same thing, turn out to be a loose hose to the air intake... good luck!

Check all your EVAP hoses.
