Hey guys so i recently bought a 95 Talon TSi i fixed all the minor issues it had and was a day away from getting it inspected.

while i was driving, i pressed the gas to go upa hill and the rpms instead of revving up like normal, they went down and up and down and up and the car barely made it up the hill.

i pulled over, turned it off then restarted it and the CEL came on :banghead:

when you try to go into gear the car bucks and sputters until 3.5k RPM's

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED

My Dreamt DSM it is a 5 speed

k Guys so the sound i was talking about i dont hear anymore, but i have some big problems.

i had my neighbor who has had multiple dsm's come over he plugged in his computer thing and here are the codes.

P0105- MAnifold absolute presure/ barometric pressure circuit malfunction

P0100- Mass or Volume air flow circuit manifold

P0110- Intake air temperature circuit malfunction

while he was checking the codes, we had the car running and after about 5 minutes it started idling really weird again going from 500-1k rpm

then it started smoking white smoke and me buddy touched inside the muffler and it was coated in oil.

he said my turbo is no good or something and i need a whole new exhaust system and some new sensors but you guys probably know more.

Everything on my car is stock, except for a new radiator i had recently replaced.

will this be expensive?

Replacing your turbo and exhaust manifold and whatever else he's talking about, then yes it will be expensive. Maybe some turbo guys will chime in and let you know more, since I'm not the best with turbos. But white smoke? Are you sure? If theres a bunch of oil it should be more of a blueish smoke. But your turbo is water cooled so it may be burning the coolant from there.

well it was dark out but it defenitly looked white to me. My buddy said hell sell me a turbo back megan racing exhaust and a Evo III 16G for $650, he probably has a manifold too

You do not need a new exhaust because of oil LOL, sounds like your "friend" is trying to make some cash. The oil will burn itself off when the problem is fixed. Pull the intake pipe off the turbo and check for shaft play up and down and side to side. If the turbo is bad try to find something cheap like a 14b to get you by until you have funds. If your friend has a real 16g in good shape then it's not a horrible deal with the exhaust.

As for the cel to me it sounds like a bad mas. Mainly because most of those can be caused by a bad mas.

I personally would try to get the cel fix before takling the turbo, but that's just me.

Thanks mchustle, and your probably right the kids not even my friend he just lives at the end of my street.

does MAS stand for mass airflow sensor?

It does not sound like a bad mas to me. All three sensors in the mas fail at the same time? Classic symptom of an unplugged mas or harness issue. If you ever run the car with the mas accidently unplugged it will flag these three codes.

Yes it does. And after you fix the oil problem it will probably smoke for a week or so while it burns the oil off.

Okay guys thanks alot for the replies anything helps.

ill check to see if the MAS if unplugged because if that is the case then this is an easy fix

Where is the MAS located?

The intake pipe coming off the turbo. Since you said its stock it will be a rubber pipe coming off the turbo into a black rectangular box(this is the mas sensor) and the other side of the mas is the intake filter box, or just an air filter if it happens to be after market.

thanks alot mchustle, so i found the MAS i checked where the wire plugs into it and the plug was extremely loose, (im pretty sure it wasnot even fully connected)

Unfortunately i did not have enough time to start up the car because i was in a rush to get to work but i will defenitaly let you guys know later if it fixed the problem

Be sure to unhook the battery for 5 mins give or take so the ecu can reset fully. If you don't it will assume the problem is still there even if it isn't.

Is not necessary to reset the ECU which the codes will go off once the problem gets fixed, but it will take some time for the ECU to reset it self, However, resetting the ECU will help to know if the codes still there at the time of restarting the car, other wise it will take some time to know if the problem was fixed or not.

Hey guys, THANKS ALOT

CEL is off

my MAS was unplugged haha.

thanks pauleyman for telling me to check that you saved my hundreds of dollars
