cheapest route to go

My other topic got buried but i guess the other is solved anyways so ill ask a new question. What is my choices and what will be the cheapest route to fix a blown rod bearing? and another question is my crank still useable?anyways here click on the video to watch my bad luck .

Pull engine. Take to local machine shop.

Certainly a bad rod bearing, but we can't exactly tell you what caused it or the damage just yet.

Pull that rod cap and check the rod bearing. Post up a picture/video of it. Also rotate the crank and check the journal that the rod rides on - drag your fingernail across it and see if you can catch an edge on it. As that looks like some pretty prominent wear, I'd say it would be safest to have the rod and crank checked for roundness. Worst case is you'll need to have the crank turned and use tighter bearings, or simply replace the crank.

Best case? Nothing was damaged, the bearing is just warn, and you might be set to replace. The odds of this are kind of out there, though.

The cheapest route will likely be purchasing a used short block locally.

If you have the skills to do most of the labor then have your crank and bearings checked by a machine shop that's What I would do. Trying to go cheap tho usually cost you more in the long run if you don't know the proper ways.

I guess the cheapest way would be to take it to a machine shop and have them check the crank if its good then get some plasti gauge and start reading some stuff about how to figure out what bearings you need and stuff.

Cheapest? Buy another engine...install it yourself. Machine shop labor isn't cheap whatsoever.
