I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good clutch kit that was under $200, because I am on a tight budget right now and cant afford an ACT clutch.
-Daniel

Well for $260 you can get a fidanza 2.1 clutch, which is what i'm running, it's a damn good clutch for the price, i have no complaints about it, it holds 350hp no problem :thumb:

You could always get a LUK clutch assembly. They run about $180 and are good brand that has been around for a while.

Yeah... if its a real clutch, "___ style" items or generic shit needs to be thouroughly inspected before put in use... and you cant really do that on ebay. Ebay will give u a cut on prices from actual products with the right numbers... Find one on there fidenza/act and check the model numbers etc before you buy. Understand youre on a budget but how many miles are on your car ... gotta think about that flywheel too

Thanks for everyones help. I ended up just getting a clutch kit from Napa.

So, I'm guessing you decided to go with Napa's item number NCLRCF48829?

I haven't launched it much. Maybe half a dozen times, but it has never slipped except when I want it too. Never smelled it burning. Also towed a nissan maxima through the city w/o problems. :) Mind you this has only been on 17psi with a 14b and 15 with a 16g.

These guys let you mix and match pressure plate and friction disc so you're not stuck with the 4 puck unsprung.

i spent under $200 on my act 2600. i got a used pressure plate that was in good condition and bought a new disk. it was around $180 total. ive got almost 10k miles on it and it still works as good as it did when i bought it.

Is there anyone out there that sells act 2100 clutch kit and act 7 bolt flywheel for cheap? I once saw a place but i cant remember.

I checked out MAPerformance, they have some great deals! $565 shipped for 2100 street clutch and streetlite flywheel combo. not bad at all.

Ok guys I think my clutch started to slip yesterday, I just have a cheap 125.00 XTD clutch from ebay, I got it in May or june, it was a good clutch for that price, but I was on the highway and downshifted to fourth and after 5000 rpm's it revved up to redline with no load on the engine, my clutch is toast right?

Who has an act clutch and what price did you get it for? Do I need to step my flywheel and get and extended rod? Thanks guys

I have the ACT 2100 with a full face, sprung disc. It was only about $300. I recommend that you get an OEM throw out bearing. The ones that come with some of the kits are cheap. To answer the rest of your questions, not you don't have to have the flywheel stepped for the pressure plate. It is recommended that you do have the flywheel resurfaced. I didn't and it is working just fine. Also you don't need an extension rod. Those only hurt the slave, causing premature failure.

Yes definately got an OEM throwout bearing I replaced it with a new OEM when I put in the clutch back in May, how heavy is the 2100 on your foot, is it a pain in the ass to drive round town?^^

The 2100 isn't bad at all. Only slightly heavier than stock. I used to dd with it in a ton of traffic without problems.

As for the flywheel, if you decide to get it resurfaced make sure the step is also within spec.

Oh, and don't use an extended rod.
