Never done a clutch on a 4g63 yet so this will be my first. Let just say the thing is toast, makes bad vibs and when i push the clutch in, it sounds like the bearing isant even there anymore, haha, doesnt matter. I have a new ACT flywheel and a new stage 3 spec clutch and a billitt fork to go in so well see how this goes. any tips and tricks, please post up. I would of posted this in the drivetrain tech but it wont let me yet.. I post up pics later

its pretty simple. some say you need to remove the intake manifold and fuel rail but you dont have to, and make sure you atleast put blocks behind the rear wheels so it doesnt roll off the jack stands while your under it like mine did:banghead: good thing the tranny was there to catch it!

all i had to remove was the rear bracket from the transmission, the subframe, ic piping + turbo inlet pipe, motor mount, axles and slave cylinder and it's ready to fall out (after taking out bell housing bolts, don't lose your dowel pins

sweet deal, thanks. I already got the alxes out, all is well so far. Had no plan on pulling the intake or fuel rails. Car supported all around on jack stands so I'm covered there. Just gonna pull the t case and let it hang, then bellhousing bolts, suppport the motor with one jack and pull the tranny with another, or aleast thats the plan. I've had nothing but mustangs my whole life so this is deff different. I've done a clutch on my friends 02 wrx before and that was pretty simple too, just a first time for everything.

that video was awesome!

ok, more update on this, got the t case out of the way, removed the slave cylinder, and figured, I start and remove the very bottom bellhousing bolt right there next to it, well as I start to lossen it, I see the tranny start to seperate from the motor, WTF!!!? I got look ontop of the motor for more bellhousing bolts, what bellhousing bolts...... no wonder this thing got a bad vib and ate the clutch... there was only one other bolt ontop holding the tranny and motor together. I bought this car for cheap, and was a auto to manual conv, before i bought it... someone nig rig this hell out of this car...can I say that on here, LOL. the cross member under it only had one bolt in it aswell... anyways, almost got it out, cant wait to see what it did to the clutch..

well its done, all in all may have took me 8 total hrs for the first try, it was easier than I'd thought it'd be. BUT, starter decided it had enough for some reason after its all said and done... and we all know were it hides at.... I was done with it for lastnight, I'll pull the pos out today see if whats up with it...

it on and grounded...., starter will spit the gear out, but doesnt turn... motor spines freely by hand..

ok soooo, I did miss one of the grounds, and what I thought was the ground was the main power wire to the starter... started right right up after that, run like a bat outta hell again
