Leamington,
hey ...i was wondering if changing a clutch is expensive if i pay a mechanic to do it...i want to install a good performance clutch so i dont have to be so soft on it since im gonna be driving fast....and if i can trust a mechanic to do that....is it something that can be installed wrong easily??

Because you are AWD it will cost you a bit more then if you were FWD. But yes taking it to a mechanic would cost you alot more then if you just did it your self.

how hard is it to do it yourself...do i have to take out a bunch of parts? will it take me a whole day or even more?

If it is your first time doing a clutch, and you are not to mechanically inclined it will probably take you the better part of 2 days. Helpful advice if you do it yourself, right down where every bolt goes, and what part it comes off of.

I would just pay a mechanic to do it right the first time. There is a lot of stuff involved for someone who isn't 100% on what they are doing. It will probably save you money in the long run. I would just go with an ACT 2100 street disc or something along those lines. Stay away from the 6-puck clutch stuff.

I know I'm 420a, but I'm actually in the middle of the process. I have my transmission pulled and the clutch out. It wasn't nearly as hard as I expected. It wasn't easy by any means though. You'll need a level head on your shoulders and a positive attitude.

AWD is a little harder though because of the output shaft for the t-case. Makes it a little more difficult to line up when reinstalling.

makes sense....i think ill stick with a mechanic...i jsut dont trust myself for the first time...:(
