Well, I went to change the wheel bearings and the outer was so stuck, I ended up messing up my axle shaft getting it out. Took another two hours to get the outer bearing out of the houseing. It looks like that is a dealer piece. $160 for the rear axle/bearing assembly. I assume that is like the picture here. I then need to buy what else? An inner bearing, and seal? What about the hub. There is a rusted out cup piece attached to the back, looks like a seal. Is that piece attached to the hub or part of it? Can I get that too? Is there a hub bearing also? I saw I could buy a hub/bearing assembly also, but it didn;t look like a bearing on mine, just that rusted out cup piece.
Thanks

If refering to #1 in This Diagram on JNZ's website, I believe that is just the bare axle itself. I'd call JNZ (or another reputable OEM Parts store) to verify. The inner/outer covers in that pic are held in place by the pressed-on outer bearing, so if comes with a bearing already, then those would also be in place.

Another option is to pick one up used piece from Gary at Mitsubishigraveyard, but would see if he could press on a new bearing for you.

BTW, how did you mess up the axle? That piece is solid, did you drive a tank over it or something ;) ?

I just ordered rear wheel bearings from JNZ today. You have the main hub, brake dust sheild, then a dust sheild, outter seal, outter wheel bearing, inner wheel bearing, inner seal, then the axle cup, washer, large nut and thats it. Then your axle bolts to the axle cup which you should know. So all in all you have 2 bearings, 2 seals and a dust shield, (not the brake dust shield which is the Large one) You should be able to reuse the small dust shield and pick up a new inner and outter wheel bearing as well as the inner and outter seals. I believe you'll press both bearings into the trailing arm, then the seals, then the hub through both and holding it all together with the large washer and nut.
