Chance to buy an engine: Good deal??

Hey all,

I have a chance to buy an a 6 bolt engine with new head. It has a lot of the sensors still on it, as well as manifolds and new coil packs. The engine needs rings though. I can get the entire thing for $350....maybe a little less. Is this a good deal? Its always nice to have spare parts...

If it was me I would scoop it up. You could always buy it for that price and then part it out and make some extra cash.

I'd probably buy the 14b turbo, depending on the price your asking.

Ok it looks like I'll be picking it up soon. Say if I rebuild it...new rings and bearings....how much does a rebuilt 4G63 go for??

If I get it I'll let you have first dibs on the 14b... if I decide to go Twin TD05 EVO III 16Gs on my stealth instead of 14bs.

Well I dunno how much it would cost to build up. If you know how to do it yourself since the engine will already be out of the car, I'm sure not much.

Yeah I am thinking maybe $100 for rings and bearings. Depending on how bad the wear is I might sell it or keep it incase I ever needed it. If I had to get machine work done on it it would cost too much and I wouldn't be able to get my money out of it, so then I'd prob keep it as a spare.

Anyone else know how much complete engines go for?

your looking at about a grand for a fully rebuilt motor with new gaskets. Mine with 95 pistons ran me about a grand with clean and .20 over bore

Yeah see that is what I was afraid of. I cost me about 3k totally rebuild my stealth motor. So say I can get the whole thing for $300, is that worth it? I figure the head and coils alone are worth $300?
