Here's why you should always insist on a 4 spider center diff that drive off all 4 posts. These pictures depict 500ft*lbs in first gear. One of the baddest steels for this application is 300M, and it has a tensile strength of 270ksi.. So we are well past the endurance limit of almost all steels, and it will experience a low cycle failure.
