Hello! I bought a wonderful 1gb AWD DSM last year and I have had a blast pouring my time and money into making it a reliable drive, the one thing keeping from DSM nirvana is a troublesome CEL 42 code that I have been unable to figure out.
I replaced the fuel pump when I bought the car and nothing changed, and it slowly developed a long crank in order to get running. I recently noticed that the blue fuel check valve on the return was BACKWARDSS!!!!! Probably was me who messed that up but I am not sure...
Either way I flipped it seemed to leave a long crank however, and I was still left wondering why. I eventually replaced It with a 2-way valve joining the two lengths of hose, and voila my long crank was gone!
I am now wondering if that back-pressure on the return line could have been damaging my pump to cause the CEL?
This is my first car and I'd love to tie a bow on all the work I've done on the car. What do y'all think?
FYI Voltages on the connectors are good and I've replaced the FPR, filter, and pump.
