I've tried to time my car with a timing light but have not been able to zero in on the timing mark. What I have had to do is adjust it simply by feel so that it is at least driveable. Finding its "sweet spot" is about 3/4 the total advancement travel on the CAS. Even at this location, the timing only feels correct at cruise and WOT. At part throttle tip in and light acceleration, it pulls timing quite a lot. I can hear wirling sounds comming from the back of the car for some reason.

Well, I took the whiteout and marked the balancer pulley so that I could finally get it timed to 5 BTDC (grouded). Even adjusted correctly, it pulls timing at throttle tip in. I've replaced every sensor imaginable! I've search the threads and have found people saying that the CAS needs to be installed at TDC and aligned correctly on the cam. I have not had time to check yet, but could this be the problem?

What are the symtoms of a CAS that was installed without the engine at TDC and with the cam gears aligned? This problem is driving me crazy

Installing the CAS isn't that difficult. It only goes in one of two ways and is trivial to check.
Turn the engine over by hand to TDC cylinder 1. Make sure your at TDC cylinder 1 by checking that the #1 piston is at the top of it's stroke and that the cam sprocket dowels are at 12:00, make sure that your cam timing mark align since the CAS depends on it, and that you crank pulley timing mark lines up with the T on the front cover. Then pop the CAS and make sure it's timing marks a lined up.

Ground the timing check connector and make sure you aren't grounding pin 10 on the DLC with a datalogger or such and adjust the CAS to 5* BTDC.

Somewhere in that process you should find your problem or at least rule out a bunch of possibilities.
