Ok car started then dies, I do NOT hear the fuel pump coming on at all, i popped the hood bypassed the fuel relay and got gas but still no spark, the ecu is not letting it spark or the fuel pump to prime.... im totaly lost and i hate this car. Already changed my ECU because it did this same thing last year, now its doing the same crap again so i dont think it was my ECU the first time. What else could it be and what can I test , and yes my timing is perfect.

cam angle sensor? also the mpi relay located next to your ecu, it controls your pump, just pop out that panel on the passenger side, find the relay, pull of the cover, and with the key ON hold down the terminals, one should cut the fuel pump on, if it doesn't then theres your problem, or part of it at least

could be a bad coil, might be your ecu based of what you said about it happening before, you should also check your ignition power transistor. btw, how are you checking for spark?

i got gas now just no spark i tested spark by grabbing the plug i left my tester at home so i had to do it thee old 9v way, touch it and see what happends LOL

if you don't have a tester take a screwdriver with a rubber/thick plastic handle, stick it in the wire, and ground it out somewhere while having someone crank the car, i used one of the bolts on the front suspension tower, but anything that grounds out will work. you should literally see the spark

If you are positive that you don't have spark, then you want to test your coilpack, your ignition power transistor, and your plug wires. also test your CAS. if all of that checks out okay and you still have no spark, check your wiring, look for loose grounds, broken connections.

you say you have repeated ecu failure so I would be inclined to think that you have a grounding problem somewhere.

I know plug wires are good and I know the wires from my ECU to my coil and CAS are in great condition with no resistance, I have changed EVERY sensor on my car except the CAS withing the past year and let me say they get expensive. I have changed my every upper gasket on my car including intake mani, head, Exhaust mani, intake middle gasket, throttle body you name it. I have fuel now which just started working after I tested the wires on the cas and coil and reset the ECU just still no spark. Im pretty sure the ECU is still working because it seems as if everything works other then spark. and I also noticed when I turn the key on I hear the fuel pump and ASD relay come on but it sounds like the ASD relay shut right back off in a split second, I did bypass it at one point but still got no spark.

have you checked to see if the fuel is making it to the rail? pop the line off and shove it in a coke bottle then crank the car a few times, if you have a bad pump it might still cut on but just not flow anything.

for the fuel it could be cloged lines, bad fuel pump, bad fuel rail, if its the cloged lines you should check your gas tank there could be dirt, metal....ect. inside there. for spark it could be bad coil, try testing the altinator at shocks, autozone, napa just take your altinator into one of those stores and ask them to test it, it also could be starter? baterie?

CAS... the fuel pump only primes when the key is first on.. it doesnt actually begin pumping until the CAS gives a reading to the ECU.. Also the CAS controls injector pulse and signal to coils to fire. Im assuming this is a 2g 4g63?

Also Note, I have not changed my Crank Sensor or Knock Sensor
So I have changed all but those 2 and the CAS

I have fuel when I crank, everything works other then spark.

When was the lasttime you checked your wireset?. Try replacing the wires if you havent done so. Do you have a CEL..? If so you get your codes read and narrow it down further.

Are your sparkplugs wet? or black in anyway. And have you tried replacing your sparkplugs..I you are not getting spark its between those two things (wireset and sparks) since you already acknowledged that the ECU and everything is fine.

plugs are fine, i change them every 3 months with my oil. and i changed them saturday when i did a head job.

more than likely your CAS has went, as on a 420a they are plastic and crack and are brittle, yours should be on the driver side on the front cam a small black thing with a plug held on by 2 bolts, if its not that its possible you fried another ecu as 2g 420a model ecus are exposed to the heat and water elements and can have trouble.

Besides the ECU could it also be my Crank Sensor or Knock Sensor
I did also check my ECU harness and its dry plus on my ECU the guts are incased inside of some rubber jell poo

Your Crankshaft position sensor tells the ecm the injection timing and ignition timing so it can verywell might cause that but it will all be centered with your ecu. As far as knock sensor it most likely wont be it..
