turbo instalaton was good went by it slowly and re traced my steps but the car is not cranking on.....i checked the battery brought it to an auto parts store and its fully charged i checked all the parts i installed everything is done perfect ....now im checking my fuel pump because i installed the 255 fuel pump with the stock fuel pump switch...could this be why the car is not cranking the 255 pump came with a new one that im going to install could this be the problem????? if not what are your suggestions thanks

does the fuel pump prime when you turn the key over... Did you move your battery, double check the wires that go onto the starter, did you disconnect any grounds kinda sounds like a ground problem.. what do you mean stock fuel pump switch.. heres how to install fuel pump on stock bracket

When you say its "not cranking," are you saying that its not turning over at all?

yea its not turning on just the battery turns on lights turn on and when i turn the key nothing happens and yes i here the pump turn on when i turn the key...i was thinking a gound problem to but idk......i mean i switched pumps but left the stock wires that connect to the stock pump and connected it to the 255 pump is that bad ...the 255 came with its own set of wires but it looked so simmiler to the stock fuel pump wire i just left the stock wire plug in

Ok, your car would turn over even if your fuel pump wasn't connected at all. It is definitely something to do with your ignition. Did you happen to leave the battery plugged in during the install and bump a wrench on your alternator?

the battery was on but only for a lil while then i notticed and unpluged it but left the battery in the car i dont think i bumped a wrench...the whole install was stress but everything went smooth do you think it may be a ground problem

Well did you check your grounds.. I put my battery in trunk and the grounds I am using is the intake mani to firewall, tranny to firewall, block to firewall, alternator to firewall and ecu ground by fuse box... Are you throwing any codes, did you test the starter, double check your connectors

yea i was thinking it was a ground eaither the ecu ground or the fuse box ground ...but it could be a battery terminal one of my friends had the same problem with there car all lights will turn on but the engin dident crank over then they found out one of the battery termminals were bad..so this could be the problem...

Could be. I would check the small wire running down to the starter. Make sure it is plugged in. If it is plugged in, check for power at that wire while turning the key to the start position.

Make sure all of the white ended wires are connected to the batteries positive side.

i got the engin to crank it was was the ground for the ecu was placed on a week ground.....but now i have a problem with my oil feed its leaking from the line itself that connects to the turbo housing ...any ideas of what i can do

Please start a new thread when asking a new question.
Did you use a AN fitting? If you did, you don't need any type of sealant on it, if you put some on that could cause it to leak.
If you're using pipe thread you need to use a sealant (made for use with oil), in order to prevent leaks.

+1 For using some kind of sealant and letting it stand so it sets up properly.

i never said it was leaking from the housing or bolt please read my previous statement i explained every thing ...and this falls into my same problem ....again its leaking from the line and im not using any sealent

ok guys i got the car cranking today i took by starter to an auto parts store to re crank because it got jamed from the car sitting for a month.....the battery is new and all my fuses are good and all my grounds are good but now the engin cranks but dosent fully start i tried a few times but still dosent start...i havent connected the 12:1 fmu yet could this be why its not coming for a full start..i havent connected the fcd yet eaither..what do you guys think i know you 420at owners had experienced this befor please help...thanks

It should still start without those 2 things...Although I would personally just get them in there before running it. Can you hear the fuel pump whine when you flip the car to the run position? You should be able to hear that 255 from inside the car loud and clear.

yea i do here it nice and clear it winds up ....im going to install the fmu tommorow and try again to start it do you have any other ideas or tips on what i can do or what it could be it cranks fine it wants to start but no start yet

A lot of times after reconnecting the battery I have to hold down the gas for a few seconds to start/keep it running or it will die...Eventually I can let off the gas and it will idle again. Just the ECU restting itself- Does yours sputter at all like it's trying to run? Or does it just keep cranking?

  • Fuel
  • Spark
  • Compression

Which one of these don't you have? It sounds like you're missing fuel, but you should definitively test for each of these then come back to us with the results.

ok guys..i got the car to start for a couple secounds with some starting fuel to help the combustion..it worked it cranked fine and started for about 2 secounds but drops back down and dosenot want to stay on it did this a few times as i tryed....i installed my 12:1 fmu today also and put it on as the diagram shows so i dont see why the fuel shouldent be flowing properly.. but i do have compresion and i do have spark but fuel it could be that but i dont see how...the fmu vacume port i connected to an intercooler pipe for vacume can this be the problem since i dont have a constant air flow in the intercooler pipe intill its being droven..or should i connect it to a vacume line from the intake mainifold could this be why the car dosent stay on....any ideas guys im so stressed i bin on this for a month now..

It's probably not the cause of your problem, but it'll be the cause of a new problem once you start boosting. The intercooler pipes aren't a vacuum source; the intake manifold is.

Check your fuel pressure. If it's low, find the leak.

so you think its the fuel pressure low presure will cause the car not to stay at idle and shut off right?..how can i check my pressure and were would i look for a leak if the car dosent stay running...thanks for the help i really appreciate this

Well we've narrowed down the list of possible problems by confirming you have spark and compression. In order to have fuel you generally need fuel pressure and the injectors must be opening. I doubt your injectors aren't opening/receiving a signal, but it could be worth verifying. You can test the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge and the test port on the fuel rail.
