hello i just installed my turbo kit on my 420a and now itwont start it cranks and cranks but wont go doesn't even make an attempt to start i know there is a number of tests that i can do but my first question that i have are the lines on my fmu for the return and fpr line i went a little ghetto and used a 3 way tee for the fpr line cause i didnt have enough fuel hose and just blocked off the middle part of the tee with a cover and also for the return line should i be using fuel inj.hose and not reg. fuel hose like i am now by having these reg. fuel hose could that be a reason why not enough fuel is being sent? thanx for the help

Your vacuum/boost source line won't make a difference while trying to crank the vehicle. Your return line is low pressure, so high pressure fuel line isn't needed.

Just as a test, get some Vise-Grip pliers, or regular pliers (requires two people) and pinch off the FMU return line and try cranking the engine over. If it starts, release the pliers and see what happens.

Without knowing if you have spark, injector pulse, compression, it is hard to really tell what is going on.

to make a car run you need three main things, fuel, spark, and air, check on those three and get back to us with what you have found. good luck

well sorry guys but i am fed up with dealing with allof the problems with this car so im just sending it to a shop. but thanks any way!

it was the positive and negative connectors they were on backwards

You are talking about the battery cables right? How the hell did it crank over?

no not the battey cables, the connector on the pump had 2 wires positive and negative when i removed the old pump it yanked those two out and i put them on the wrong way which made the pump prime but was circullating the gas the wrong way so i just flipped them back and bam it starts up LOL i feel retarded. p.s. could you look at my other thread maybe u could help

just a minor wiring mistake, is the car up and running now? what turbo did u install on yours

is regular fuel hose ok to install the fmu on a 1997 the psi on the hose says 50psi. the reason im asking is cause i put on one of thos cheap OBX ebay junk fmus and it leaks like a son of a gun. it sprays fuel out of it and seems pretty high pressure when the pump prims.
