Abbotsford,
Ive owned the same 1997 talon non-turbo 420a car all year, no problems with anything everything runs great. Then all of a sudden yesterday I get up car starts fine drive for about 45 min, turn off car for about 5-10 mins while im in the store. come back turn the key and everything turns over in the engine and everything sounds like its going to start then just dies.... over and over. Then I roll out of the drive way after 10 mins of no luck and try again and on the 3rd time it started up perky as ever and worked fine.

About 10 start on stops later and the next evening, same thing...This time its not gonna start up again.

Car has 3/4 tank of gas
car ran fine before
starter working just fine

I tried changing the ignition pack/coils and same thing...I had the aftermarket MSD and I thought it just died, but when i put my old stock "working one" and nothing....just keeps cranking over with no go.

What powers the ignition packs, is there anything further down the line I can check?

start simple. check you battery terminal connections on both ends and make sure they have a good connection.

well if you really have to be some where you can always pop the clutch during a rolling start. If that actually works it means your starter is toast, check all the wires connecting it and make sure none are loose.

Does the engine fire? Or does it just turn. Check the positive wire from the terminal to the starter. Mine got corroded a little bit in the past and upon initial start up it would fire up fine but once everything heated up it made it alot harder for current to flow through that wire. If that wire and the ground is fine, try the starter.

mechanic replaced the crank angle sensor....Seems to have it fixed....Ill keep you posted.
