Hey everyone,

I'm new to posting to tuners, But definatley not new to dsm's or Gvr4's. I am on galantvr4.org daily as well as tuners, I just never really have issues so I have not gotten around to posting here. I have been in the dsm world for over 13 years now, and I drive a next to mint condition 1991 Galant vr4 # 222/2000. The motor is a stock rebuild.

So I am having a pretty crazy issue I have been trying to figure out for a while now. My Vr4 starts and idles just fine however, when I start driving, it starts breaking up and will NOT rev past 2k rpms until I shut the car off and restart it. once restarted it idles fine until I start driving again.

So what I have done to figure out whats going on. Replaced my plugs with BP7res NGK plugs, gapped to .28 New plug wires, replaced transistor, Compression test as follows, 152, 150, 154, 154. Timing is dead on marks on the cam gears and crank line up at 5* base. New denso o2 sensor (just replaced yesterday) and boost leak tested at 20psi, Found some leaks but they are all fixed now.

This all started after I replaced my clutch (ACT 2600 PP and street disc) and 8lb. Fidanza flywheel. I really thought this issue was my o2 sensor not cycling, So I replaced the o2 and its finally cycling again. But it has not fixed the issue at all. Any insight would be great. My computer won't link up to my logger so I cant post a log as of now.

Main mods are as follows
keydiver chipped ecu, 2g maf, Dejon intake, RC 550cc injectors, Rewired Walbro 255, Bastard 20g, 3g lifters.

Do you have any boost leaks any cels?

Base fuel pressure, I cannot check. I dont have an aftermarket gauge or fpr unfortunatley. So it should be the stock fuel pressure set at 37 psi.

I have done a boost leak test, and I fixed all boost leaks. It holds 20 psi for about 2 mins before it bleeds off.

And no CEL at the moment, It use to have a code 11 for the o2, but thats no longer there now that I replaced the o2 sensor.

What is your base fuel pressure when you first start it, also have you checked your ECU for leaking caps?

Joel

And the ecu was socketed and caps were replaced 6 months ago from ecmtuning. I also just got my dsmlink and my speed density stuff, But I really want to get it up and running with the 2g maf so I can make sure I dont add to the issues im having.

Thanks for all the input so far guys, so I checked timing all marks are line up 100%, I have been doing this a long time, and have a lot of experience setting timing correctly LOL

A few more issues have came up, my fuel filter failed on me and let a lot of crap into my injectors I believe. I replaced my fuel filter and it's still doing the same thing, so I'm certain that it clogged my injectors as well. Here's a picture of my filter.

Another issue that I found is a pretty substantial exhaust leak from between my manifold and turbo. So I will be putting on a new 7cm exhaust housing here soon.
