Car will not accelerate

I re-timed my engine, and when I started it up tonight, it sounded normal. No clicking by the valve cover or anything. I backed out of the drive with no problem. When I put it in first and give it some gas, the car will not go. The intake sounds like a deep tone (like it has an intake pipe right on the throttle body just like some hondas) and it wants to go, but I hear this sound which sounds like a valve tap and the car barely accelerates. What is going on?

I have eliminated balance shafts, mbc, an intake pipe + filter and a stock exhaust.

Have to ask, did you plug the MAF plug back in?

Yes it would, just would run like crap and sound real bad. Won't idle for shit and would run rich as hell. Usually makes a whooshinng sound coming from the air filter, almost like the motor is starving for air, but when you bump the throttle the turbo spools, this also can be heard via the air filter. Not that I have done this before by accident or anything .

If not that, then I would recap on what I just did to the car and double check all my procedures.

How was the car running before the retiming and other items you mentioned?

It ran great, but then my front balance shaft belt broke, so I eliminated both of them. I also changed the crank pulley and timing belt.

btw compression was 170 across the board.

this might sound stupid, but i dont have the fan plugged in, this won't affect anything will it?

reconnected the fan.. maf plug is still plugged in... i still dont know whats wrong

Is your "throttle closed switch" hooked up?
