Popping/car wont accelerate.

I hve a 90 gsx. I can floor the car and it goes to about 4K with easy and then its slows way down my a/f guage goes from 1-3 clicks rich ALL the way down to the first lean click or off the gauge. Then my exhaust sounds like a machine gun if i keep in the throttle. That is only running 10psi. If i keep my foot in it while its popping its goes up to like 18 on my gauge. I just put new plugs in it, .28 gap, that did nothing to fix the problem. Could this be my wires? They are not that old either. Now once the popping starts if i roll my throttle to about 40-50 percent, it starts to pull just fine all the way to redline. Accually pulls good for 40-50%. But anywhere above 4K if i got WOT it doesthis. Here are my mods
New timing belt and the goodies, my timing is on also.

I dont know if you guys have fixed it yet but this happened to me once when i took out the intake then when i put it back in i forgot to hook up the mas air flow sensor car ran like crap way rich and pooping. Im not claiming to know what im talking about but thats wut happened to me WTF

What are your settings on your AFC....? :confused: I bet your running pig rich. :nono:
 
My car was running horrible the other day right after I finshed a rebuild. The car idles fine and out of boost ran fine. When I first got into the throttle it felt ok then it would break up run horrible and boost was irratic. I found a small boost leak on the J-pipe and the Actuator was jamed up and not able to move. Fixed that and the car runs mint. My car is running pig rich right now, no tune and 550's. I am waiting to get fuel pump installed so I can tune with my WB. I am running 10 pounds of boost right now untuned and it pulls yard and dosnt run like yours. So I think it may be something else besides just being rich. But every car is different.
 
i have a similar problem too....i have 8mm accel plug wires,ngk-r spark plugs...when i was driving home everything was normal.....it was really really cold ice was on my roof like after it rained around 1am after work....i was driving home and half way(lucky me work is only 5 minutes away) after i make a stop and i go around 3-4000 rpm i hear a pop and then i cant rev higher than 2500 rpm in gear while moving, so i switch to 2nd and i cant go higher than 2500 but i gain speed and so on to 3rd and 4th gear....then i get to my drive way and i set it in N and let it idle and it sound poppy and it turns off by its self (no turbo timer installed in my car) so i turn it on again and i try revving while in N and if i push the gas lightly it revs good but if i punch it a lil bit the rpm goes downto like 2000 and i let it idle then if i just punch the gas more then like 40 50% it just dies then if i let it warm and let it idle with out punching the gas at all it idles funny,poppy and it drops to like almost 100(one hundred) rpm and goes back up to 1000....so the next day i check the plugs and wires and number 4 is completely black(burned) and so is the spark plug and the chamber..but the rest of the three are fine( 1 2 and 3) ..i went out to buy some new ngk-r plugs and i bought bosch wires (7mm) for 37 bucks and 15 for the plugs..i couldnt find any denso wires near by so i had to go with auto zone bosch..and plus low on money.. i called my dad at home to take off the wires and plugs and he disconnected the wires from the firing box too so now i dont know where the wires go...so i need help with both things now i know the firing order is 1-3-4-2 but i dont know which is which one the firing box is it 4-1-2-3????? or 3-2-1-4????WTF :confused: WTF :confused: WTF :confused:
