Hey guys I have a 90 tsi that I bought this summer. It was completely stock but had 80k miles.it had been sitting for a year. I've been doing maintenance and all that all summer and it works fine except for one thing, it hits like a wall in boost.

Here's the scenario, the only mods I have are a manual boost controller and a boost gauge, along with most of the emissions extra stuff removed and an open air box.also no balance belt.

I will be driving around town, car is dog slow till about 3k rpm, hits boost, does fine. I can put the pedal down about 5/6ths of the way down. IT holds steady at 10psi. It's set for around 13. If I push down on the pedal that last 1/6th, the car accelerates, then bogs huge. It feels like stalling, like a huge buck, and if I let my foot off of the accelerator a little bit, then it is fine.

Bear in mind, this is the only issue I have with the car. No codes, no nothing. I drove it almost 900 miles this weekend with no issues.
But this spools me hard, what could be wrong?

I checked the plugs and wires, and ran injector cleaner in the tank.

I cant tell if you're hitting fuel cut or you have a boost leak by your description. I would do a boost leak test first. Does the boost spike past 13psi? Fuel cut feels like hitting a wall, It is violent and scary when it happens. A boost leak on the otherhand, Will feel like bogging and it will take a long time to build boost, And will also give you fuel cut. There is plenty of info on both of these subjects on this site. Do a boost leak test and go from there. If you need help, Ask. Later.

This is indeed, violent and scary, and also once the turbo spools boost comes on fine with no hesitation.
